How to Remove the Auto Logoff Feature in Windows XP

If a screensaver is configured within Windows XP, you can set the screensaver to automatically log users off after a set amount of time. This results in the user needing to input her username and password if she wants to log back on to the computer once the screensaver has engaged. You can disable this option by disabling the screensaver, or by disabling the password feature of the screensaver.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Start" button, open "Control Panel" and then double-click on "Display."

    • 2

Click on the "Screen Saver" tab.

    • 3

Uncheck the "On resume, password protect" checkbox and then click "OK" to apply the settings and turn off the auto logoff feature.
