Decorate with markers.

Snap-It coasters are a part of the Snap-It line of customizable containers, décor items and surfaces. These items are available through the Makit website, a site often used by teachers, parents and scout leaders for art projects. The coasters are clear, customizable coasters that snap open to reveal an area in which you can insert an artwork or a photo. They differ from the Snappie coasters available on the same site; you can tell them apart by the Snap-It coaster’s higher price, octagonal shape and cork backing. The coaster also includes a sheet of art paper.

Instructions

    • 1

Snap open the coaster and remove the art paper.

    • 2

Decorate the included art paper with your desired design or cut a photo or existing piece of artwork to the size of the art area, using the art paper as a template. Add sticker images or words to the face of the artwork or other decorative elements. For example, you could cut a photo of your mom to the size of the template and then spell "Mom" on top of the photo with sticker letters.

    • 3

Insert your artwork or photo into the recessed area meant for the art paper.

    • 4

Snap the coaster closed, pressing each side until you hear a "click" sound.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make several identical coasters to give out as party gifts or wedding favors, using a photo of the honoree or bride and groom in the insert.

  • You could also use these coasters as place settings at a dinner. Insert name artwork or a photo of each guest and place the coaster at the appropriate seat.

  • Children should use safety scissors when cutting out photos or artwork.
