How to Make a Donation Flier
Donations are how many organizations stay in business. Places such as Goodwill and the Salvation Army survive off of donations from people in their areas. If you are starting a charitable business that needs donations to survive you should make a donation flier to let people know when, where and how they can donate to help your cause. A simple program like Microsoft Word can be used to make a donation flier at home.

1
Open a new document in the word processing program of your choice. Set the margins to about 0.5 to allow for more space to work. You need to fit the flier on one 8-by-10-inch page.
-
2
Type in the name of the charity or the reason for donations at the top of the page. Choose a large, easy-to-read font that will catch people’s attention. Font sizes 28 to 48 will work well, depending on the font you choose. Also, choose a font color that is striking yet easy to read. Center the title on the flier.

3
Add a picture to your word processing program beneath the title. In most cases you just have to drag and drop a photo or clip art into the open document. Be sure the picture is relevant to your cause and that you have permission to use it. Choose a picture that will catch people’s attention. Center the picture on the flier.

4
Add a small blurb about why people should donate to your cause below the picture. A human-interest story or some simple facts are a good way to get people’s attention. Make sure it is short, to the point, but meaningful all at the same time. This portion should be no longer than one paragraph. Make this font size between 22 and 28.
-
5
Add any relevant donation information to the flier below the previous section in a slightly smaller font size than the title, somewhere between 22 and 26. Be sure to include when, where and how the donations will be taken. Include addresses and any relevant phone numbers.
-
6
Make sure all the text is in the same font and font color. Spell check the flier and print it using a high quality printer, ink and paper for the sake of the picture.
