Find a second job to pay your bills.

More and more people today are looking to get a second job, or a hobby that pays, as a means for more income. If you already have one, full-time job, your secondary job or hobby should be something you truly enjoy and want to do. Although finding one job can be stressful and hard enough as it is, there are a few tips and suggestions to help you find your secondary job more easily.

Instructions

    • 1

Be specific about what you want and what you can do. Since you already have one job, your second job should be something that is exactly (or at least close to) what you want to do. Think about your skills, what you're good at and what you enjoy. Try to hone in on these skills, and look for job opportunities that reflect them.

Find a flexible job. A second job should ideally be a part time job. Whether it's working weekends or during the evening after your first job, you don't want to burn yourself out at your second job. Try to find a job that will allow you to pick your hours and how long you'd like to work. This way, you can still spend time with your friends and family.

    • 3

Look for a job that offers great benefits and money. Even though it's your second job, it doesn't mean it has to pay poorly and offer no benefits at all. Look for a job that just won't help pay the extra bills, find something that can put your children through college, fund your retirement home or allow you to retire early.

Make a list of things that you want in your life. If you never had to work another day in your life, what would you do? With that in mind, narrow down all the things that are important to you and what you're missing. If you long to go dancing and enjoy the night life, maybe you should consider working at a bar or night club. If you love to sit back and read a book, consider a job at a publishing house or as an editor.

Go back to school if necessary. If your current job just isn't cutting it, and the second job wouldn't necessarily help, think about furthering your education. It's never too late to go back to school to get your degree or to get a higher degree.
