How to Make Facial Hair More Visible

After investing the time and energy to grow, groom and shape your facial hair, your effort should at least be visible. However, if you have naturally-light hair, your beard, moustache, or goatee might go unnoticed. A few strategies can help you create facial hair that truly stands out and transforms your look.

In the Dark

One of the most effective ways to make your facial hair more visible is to artificially darken it. While you can visit your salon for a professional dye job, you can also tackle too-light facial hair at home with a beard-dyeing kit from the drug store.

There are two different types of beard coloring kits. One tackles gray hair to restore your original hair color. Others dye over the lighter hairs, instructing you to brush on a new, darker color, which will make that facial hair stand out. These dyes come with convenient brushes, allowing you to easily apply the dye to your beard.

But with whichever treatment you use, always closely follow manufacturer's directions. Leaving the product on for the wrong amount of time may impact the effectiveness of the coloring.

Patch Work

Not every man grows a thick, even beard. Some facial hair comes in unevenly, which can result in hairless patches on your face. Time might be all you need to make that facial hair more visible. A new, short beard might include several bald patches, but they will be less noticeable over time. As you allow your beard to grow in, the patchy areas may begin to blend in better with the beard.
