How to Convert Quickbooks to QIF

Quickbooks is a computer program that you can use to keep track of all of your accounting information, such as bank account data and income tax information. The QIF file format is used by Quicken, which is another type of program that performs the same tasks. If you have information entered into Quickbooks that you'd like to use in Quicken, you'll need to convert all of your data to the QIF file format.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Quickbooks information file by double-clicking on it. It will open Quickbooks, which will then display the information stored in your file.

    • 2

      Click "File."

    • 3

      Click "Export."

    • 4

Use the first portion of the "Export" screen to select exactly what types of data you'd like to export to the QIF file format. If you want to export everything, select all of the options on the screen.

    • 5

Choose the "Quicken" file format from the "File Type" list of options. Click "OK." Quickbooks will export all of your selected information to the QIF Quicken file format.
