Open windows and turn on a fan to ventilate the room.

    • 2

Create a mixture that is 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water. A weaker mix of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar can be used as well. If you have proper ventilation, then the stronger mix is recommended.

    • 3

Use a hard-bristled brush to scrub the affected area.

    • 4

Spray the affected area with an enzymatic cleaner. Follow the instructions on the container for proper use.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the above does not work, then create a paste of baking soda and white vinegar. Apply the paste to the affected area and let it sit for about 12 hours. Scrub it off with a hard-bristled brush, then try the enzymatic cleaner again.

  • Never use ammonia to clean up pet urine. This might cause the animal to think that the affected area is the new restroom spot in the house.
