How to Adjust the Headlamps on a 2007 Chevy Cobalt
The 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt headlamps were preset at the factory as part of the vehicle's optical headlamp aiming system. In most cases, the headlamps of this vehicle do not ever need to be adjusted. If headlamps have been replaced, or if other vehicles often flash high beams at you, then the vertical aim of the headlamps may need to be adjusted.

1
Park the vehicle so that the headlamps are 25 feet from a light colored wall, with the headlamps facing the wall directly. Open the hood.
-
2
Locate the aim dot on the lens of the low-beam headlamp. It is near the center of the headlamp. Measure the distance from the ground to the aim dot.
-
-
3
Measure from the ground upward on the wall and mark the location that is the same height as the aim dot from the ground. Draw or tape a horizontal line on the wall the same width of the vehicle at the height of the aim dot mark.
-
4
Turn the headlamps on, with the low-beams only. Cover the headlamp not being adjusted with something to block the light, such as a piece of cardboard.
-
5
Locate the vertical headlamp aiming screws, under the hood near the headlamp assembly. Turn the vertical aiming screw, using a 6 mm socket wrench, until the beam of the headlamp is aiming at the horizontal line on the wall. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the angle of the beam. Turn the screw counterclockwise to lower the angle of the beam.
-
6
Adjust the headlamp until the beam is positioned at the bottom edge of the horizontal line on the wall. Repeat the aiming process for the other headlamp.
