Create a yearly budget for your singles ministry.

Having a singles ministry in your church or local community is a great way for singles to come together and have fun, while also doing the work of ministry. To have a successful singles ministry, you need to create an annual budget. This will enable the group to properly plan and prepare for both regular and special events. You do not want to see fruitful ministry efforts get derailed due to lack of proper financial planning.

Instructions

1. Calculate the amount of money guaranteed to come in each year. This would include monthly or annual dues that members pay as well as the sum the church specifically earmarks for the singles ministry. Write down your calculation.

2. Estimate the amount of money expected from fund-raising events, such as an annual singles banquet, or raffle ticket sales. Write down your estimate.

3. Total these calculations. This is the ministry's annual projected income. Write down this amount.

4. Calculate the ministry's required annual expenses. For example, total the amount for refreshments at each monthly gathering, for marketing special events, facility rentals, guest speaker honorariums and decorating costs. Write down these expenses.

5. Subtract annual expenses from annual projected income. The remainder is what is available to you above and beyond your budget. Designate this as petty cash, which you can use for unexpected expenses.
