Homemade Price Tags

Making your own price tags takes a bit of creativity and some basic art supplies.

Yard sales, garage sales and owning your own store are all reasons to make and personalize your own price tags. There are several ways to do this and all you need is a bit of creativity and time to assemble them. When you make your own price tags, you have to make them functional, meaning if you can tie or stick a price tag on the item, then you need to choose which one you would prefer. For instance, if you have statues that have an area to tie a price tag on, then making a price tag with a small lanyard might be preferable to a price tag that sticks because it won't harm the statue.

Things You'll Need

• Computer labels
• Blank price tags
• Fabric scissors in different patterns
• Small string
• Colorful markers

Instructions

1. Draw and color in, if needed, a logo in the top left-hand corner of the computer label or blank price tag and then write the price in the main area of the price tag.

2. Put colored dots in a corner of the price tag to denote particular sales and prices. For instance, you can put a red dot on one of the corners of the price tags to denote a half-off or buy-one-get-one-free sale.

3. Draw the prices on your preferred price tag in different fonts for differently priced items.

4. Draw a logo or symbol on the price tag in light colors, and then use a dark color to write the price on the price tag.

5. Use the larger labels to add a picture and then put the price above or below the picture.

6. Write your company slogan across the price tag in one color while leaving space to write the price in a different color.

7. Use the scissors to cut designs around the border of your price tags and write the price in bold colors.
