1
Plan your room. Consult your books and look at photographs of Egyptian tombs, museum displays or even already created Egyptian themed rooms. Decide which items you would like to include in your decor that fit in your decorating budget. Collect the items you wish to display such as statues, a bed canopy or any specific artifacts you are using, and set them out. Determine a paint scheme to complement the items you will use, and how much of the room you will repaint.

2
Paint the areas you have decided on in the Egyptian style colors. Some good starting points would be to consider painting the trim black and the walls in a muted deep golden tone. Accents could be added in jewel tones, or perhaps you could stencil some Egyptian style motifs on the walls in a design that will blend into the theme.

3
Dress the bed in the new bedding. If you are using a plain color in a hue that fits the theme, such as gold or copper, use pillows in contrasting shades. The bed canopy should match some of the pillows to add consistency. Hang the canopy or bed net once the bed is dressed.

4
Place the statues, wall decor and pots--with or without palms in them--around the room. Drape scarves or scatter extra throw pillows in different areas to add to the theme.
