How to Make Hair Bow Hangers

Organize your own clips at home using a homemade hair-bow hanger.

Hair bows are an accessory you can wear to match an outfit or celebration. They are often bright, big, and used for special occasions. The bows can get lost if there is not a specific place for them, but a holder keeps them organized and makes it easier to pick one out. By making your own hair-bow hanger, you can save money and brush up on your crafting skills.

Things You'll Need

• 16 x 20 canvas
• Fabric
• 5 yards of ribbon
• Staple gun
• Scissors
• Push Pins

Instructions

1. Tightly cover a six inch by six inch or 12 inch by 12 inch canvas with your favorite fabric and staple it on the back of the canvas. Make sure the fabric is still tight across the canvas before stapling it. Cut off the excess fabric. Use the 12 inch by 12 inch canvas if you have a lot of hair bows.

2. Turn the canvas over, cut four pieces of ribbon and lay them over the front of the canvas. Cut each ribbon so it extends two inches past each side. The ribbons should be 16 inches long for the larger canvas, or 10 inches long for the smaller canvas.

3. Space out the ribbons evenly on the front of the canvas and pin them in place using push pins. Flip the canvas over and tightly fold each end of each ribbon to the back of the canvas. Secure each end by stapling them to the back of the canvas, then turn the canvas back over and remove the pins.

4. Clip your hair bows onto the hanger by opening the clip, putting the bottom part of the clip under the ribbon, and the top part of the clip over the ribbon, and then snap it shut.

Tips & Warnings

• Match the fabric that covers the canvas with the ribbon.
