If you are planning on starting a business in the District of Columbia, you'll need a Basic Business License application to complete and submit. The District of Columbia Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) is the agency you go to for the application. You can do this over the Internet or by contacting the DCRA office.
