How to Paint Brick Pavers for Door Stops
Contractors and homeowners often use brick pavers to create walkways and patios outside a home. Things You'll Need
- Trisodium phosphate (TSP)
- Bucket
- Scrub brush
- Tarp
- Acrylic primer
- Acrylic Latex paint
- Paintbrush

Pour 1/2 cup TSP into the bucket and add 2 gallons of warm water to the bucket. Mix the ingredients well. Dip the scrub brush into the TSP mixture and scrub the brick paver to remove any surface dirt and grime. Allow the brick paver to dry completely before proceeding.

Place the paver onto the tarp and apply the acrylic primer to each exposed side of the paver. Consult the primer packaging for drying time and allow the paver to dry completely. Turn the paver over after the painted sides dry and apply the primer to the one remaining side of the paver. Allow the paver to dry completely before proceeding.

Apply the acrylic latex paint to the paver with the paintbrush, coating each side completely. Allow the paint to dry and then turn the paver over to paint the one remaining side. Allow the last side of the paver to dry and then apply a second coat of paint to all surfaces of the paver to finish painting the brick paver.

Tips & Warnings
Protect your eyes and skin from TSP as you use it. Wear eye goggles, gloves, long pants and long sleeves to avoid contacting the TSP with your skin.
