How to Install Two DVR Cards
A DVR, or digital video recorder, is a device typically used with televisions to record programming from a cable or satellite receiver. However, DVR cards for computers install into the system and allow you to record content, typically from security cameras. If you have multiple cameras as part of a home security system it may be best to install two different DVR cards into your computer.

1
Power down the computer and remove the cables connected to the system. Unscrew the Phillips screws along the back of the computer tower then slide open the computer to reveal the interior of the system.
-
2
Look at the back end of the computer. This is where all of the expansion cards are installed; the cards run directly into the PCI card slots of the motherboard.

-
3
Insert the first DVR card into the first available PCI card slot. Push down the plastic levers along each side of the slot to lock the card in place.
-
4
Repeat the connection process with the second DVR card.
-
5
Close the computer, tighten the Phillips screws and insert the cables back into place.
-
6
Power on the computer and insert the first driver installation CD. When the installation wizard appears follow the short series of prompts to install the driver (it does not matter in what order you install the drivers). Remove the installation CD and insert the second disc. Repeat the same process for the second CD. Once the installation has finished you are all set to begin using your DVR cards.
