  • Rubber gloves
  • Paper towels
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 2/3 cups water
  • 1 tbsp. carpet detergent
  • Bowl
  • Washcloth
  • Baking soda
  • Vacuum cleaner

      Wear protective rubber gloves before cleaning the vomit. Pick up as much vomit as possible with paper towels.

      Combine 1/3 cup of white vinegar, 2/3 cups of water and 1 tbsp. of a carpet detergent in a bowl. Soak a washcloth with this solution, and wring out any excess liquid.

      Test the solution on an inconspicuous area to ensure that it will not damage the carpet.

      Blot the vomit stain with the washcloth. Rinse the washcloth out, and continue to blot the stain to lift the vomit stain from the carpet.

      Place paper towels over the stain to cover it. Press down on the gently, and allow the paper towels to absorb the excess solution.

      Sprinkle baking soda over the stain while it remains wet. Allow the area to air dry, and then vacuum it up.
