How to Design Rubber Stamps Online

Design rubber stamps online for a variety of purposes.

Historical evidence indicates that the rubber hand stamp was invented between 1864 and 1866, according to the Early Office Museum website. Since that time, people have used rubber stamps to mark furniture with manufacturer information, to stamp addresses on business mail, and to create greeting cards and scrapbooks. Before the Internet age, custom rubber stamps were a special-order item, but now a number of online stores allow you to design your own rubber stamps.

Instructions

1. Create a rubber stamp online at I Make Stamps, Inc., using the stamp design wizard. This service allows you to upload a black-and-white image with a minimum resolution of 600 dpi. You can also add three lines of text to your design and preview your stamp before ordering.

2. Design a rubber stamp at Custom Stamps Online. Once you launch the custom stamp designer, you can select a date stamp, a grid stamp, a text-only stamp, a stamp with text and an image, or a round stamp with text and an optional image. You must upload at least a 300 dpi color image or a 600 dpi black-and-white image. You can view a PDF preview of your stamp before you order.

3. Use one of four custom stamp wizards to design a rubber stamp at The Stampmaker. After you choose among regular stamps, date stamps, inspection stamps, and band stamps, enter your text and select from a variety of clip art images. Clicking the “Show me my stamp” button displays a preview of your stamp.
