Choosing Your Feather Bed
-
1
Choose the type of feather bed that suits you best. A classic feather bed has different sections that are filled with down. Sometimes they are filled with a combination of down and other feathers. The feather bed is filled with these and sown together at the edges. There is also a type of feather bed called a baffle box. This is like a normal feather bed only it is about two inches thick all the way through.
-
2
Pick the same size feather bed as the bed that you have. For example, if you have a full bed, you will need a full feather bed.
-
-
3
Choose how full you want the feather bed to be. The fuller it is, the longer it will last. Also, the fuller the bed, the further into you will sink when you sleep on it.
Using Your Feather Bed
-
4
Take the feather bed out of its package, and let it air out. Take this time to fluff it up so it will be thicker.
-
5
Put your fitted sheet on like you normally would. Then put your feather bed on top of it. Make sure the down is even all over the feather bed and no part is thicker than another.
-
6
Use a top sheet that is bigger than your bed. The feather bed will add height to your bed so a standard sized sheet will not work. For example, if you have a full sized mattress, you will need a queen sized top sheet.
