How to Clean Greasy Stainless Steel
When stainless steel surfaces become covered with a coat of greasy residue, the slick film makes the steel look dirty and untouchable. The natural look of the cool steel typically holds a semi-reflective, sleek appearance that is easily maintained, so it is important to remove this greasy residue when it develops. Whether you have splattered grease onto a stainless steel stovetop while cooking or spilled some vegetable oil onto the steel countertop while preparing a meal, you can remove the grease with a quick cleaning routine. Fill the sink with 2 quarts of water and 2 tsp. of dish soap, or about two squirts of the soap.

Dip a sponge in the sink, and squeeze the excess water from the sponge.

Wipe over the greasy steel surface, dipping the sponge back into the water after every few swipes.

Rinse the sponge with hot water. Pour 2 tbsp. white vinegar onto the sponge and wipe over any remaining grease. Rinse the sponge with hot water again and wipe off the vinegar.

Dry the stainless steel with a clean cloth.
