How to Remove Permanent Marker from the Fridge

Most parents find at some point that their little artist has found a permanent marker, and a flat surface like the refrigerator becomes the canvas. Parents quickly learn that all-purpose cleaner will not work to remove these permanent marks. Instead, you must use some stronger cleaners, many of which may be already in your home.

Things You'll Need

• Nail polish remover
• Cotton balls
• Rag

Instructions

1. Soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover.

2. Rub the permanent marker spots with the cotton ball, ensuring all areas that were marked are covered with nail polish remover.

3. Allow the nail polish remover to sit on the refrigerator for two to three minutes.

4. Wipe off the nail polish remover with a clean rag.

5. Repeat if needed.

Tips & Warnings

• Use nail polish remover that contains acetone as an ingredient.

• Use rubbing alcohol or acetone in place of nail polish remover.

• When using nail polish remover, open the windows and work in a well-ventilated area.
