How to Wrap Cut Flowers
Cut flowers are an appropriate gift for any occasion. And gardeners often have plenty of flowers to make a lovely gift, if they are attractively presented. The simplest way to make an appealing flower presentation is to wrap them in cellophane and tissue paper and tie with a pretty ribbon. This not only looks attractive, it also helps protect the flowers for transport and keeps them fresher by minimizing the amount of air circulation around them. Does this Spark an idea?

Cut fresh flowers from the garden, or purchase from flower vendor. Leave long stems attached.

Remove lower leaves from the stems.

Spread a cellophane square and turn so that it is a diamond. Add a piece of tissue paper of the same shape on top of the cellophane. Choose a shade of tissue paper that will coordinate with cut flower colors.

Arrange cut flowers so that the stems are about 3 inches from the bottom of the diamond. Do not let flower heads extend above the top of the diamond. Trim stems if necessary.

Fold 3-inch tip of diamond over the bottom of flower stems. Fold left side of diamond over stems. Fold right side of diamond over stems. Tape in place.

Tie a coordinating piece of ribbon or string around paper. Keep flowers in the refrigerator in the horizontal position until ready to present.
