How Do I Clean Cloudy Stemware?
Over time, a cloudy haze develops on stemware that makes it look unattractive and unsuitable for use. A full set of stemware can be expensive, making it important to salvage your current set if possible. By treating your glasses properly, you can remove the cloudy film and return the stemware to its like-new condition with a very inexpensive household product–vinegar. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Basin
- Water
- Vinegar
- Cleaning rags
- Nylon scrubber
- Microwave
- Microwave-safe bowls

Microwave bowls of white vinegar for one minute each, and pour into a large basin. Use enough vinegar to allow all stemware to move freely in the basin.

Place the stemware in the basin, submerging all of the glass.

Let the stemware soak for one hour.

Remove the stemware piece by piece, and scrub with a nylon scrubber.

Rinse the stemware when all the cloudy film is removed, and dry with a clean cloth.

Tips & Warnings
Microwaving the vinegar also deodorizes your microwave. After microwaving the vinegar, wipe down the walls of your microwave with a damp cloth.
