Continental Portuguese, spoken in Portugal, is different in vocabulary, construction and slang than Brazilian Portgueuse. The advantages of learning a foreign language online are that you move through the lessons at your own pace, access chat rooms and message boards to practice your vocabulary, and learn from the comfort of your own home. Disadvantages include difficulty in motivating yourself when there is a lack of structure and support.
