1
Find a reputable company. Western Union, MoneyGram and other companies with physical branches have fast and reliable online services, though they charge similar rates as the physical branches, which vary between providers. Xoom and Paypal are established online companies that require you to open an account.

2
Open an account with an online service, if required, and link it to your credit or debit card or checking account. The wire company will ask you to enter all of your personal information (name, address, date of birth, phone number and email) and link a card or account to transfer money from. If you are linking an account, you will need a routing number, which is usually found on the bottom of checks issued for that account.

3
Enter the recipient’s name and either an address or bank account number, depending on the service. If you send money to a bank account, the recipient will need to provide you with the account’s routing number.
