Homemade Scrapbook Albums
Scrapbooking is an effective way to preserve memories, photos and mementos in a creative and organized fashion. Scrapbooking techniques and supplies vary in style depending on the theme of the scrapbook. You can choose to set a specific theme for the scrapbook (a particular year, child, relationship, place, etc.) or keep the scrapbook free of themes and create each page around a specific theme. There are no rules when it comes to scrapbooking, so feel free to let your imagination and creativity run wild.

1
Choose a scrapbooking album with top loading pages. This means that pages are protected by a plastic cover, but you can add or remove a page from a slit in the top of the plastic. This allows you to rearrange or add pages without damaging the scrapbook. Scrapbook albums come in a variety of styles, so choose a size and look that suits your preferences.
-
2
Start with a blank piece of cardstock or a piece of patterned scrapbooking paper.
-
-
3
Choose the photos that you want to use for the page and choose a theme if you want.
-
4
Lay the photos out on the page and play around with the positioning of the photos to see how they look together. Perform this step before you glue your photos down so you can get a sense of how the page will look.
-
5
Cut out mat board pieces of cardstock that are slightly larger than the photos you are using. Mat board is cardstock cutout that will be used as the base of the photo. It provides a colorful border around a photo and lends a professional air to your scrapbook.
-
6
Glue the mat board in place where you would like to place a photo. Glue the photo to the mat board and press down to secure.
-
7
Repeat this process with additional photos.
-
8
Add embellishments such as stickers, mementos and stamps to the page to decorate in your preferred style.
