Crystal glass contains lead oxide to increase its density, which contributes to the reflective properties of the glass and adds to its brilliance. In addition, lead oxide makes the glass softer and more vulnerable to etching and scratching. Consequently, when cleaning crystal wine glasses, it's important to proceed with caution to protect the appearance of the glass. Even dust can damage the surface. Does this Spark an idea?
