How to Use a Garlic Crusher
Garlic lovers often cannot settle for anything other than the taste of freshly minced or pressed garlic in savory dishes, adding a zesty and spicy flavor. While many cooks willingly mince or crush garlic on a cutting board with a knife, other cooks prefer using a garlic crusher or press instead. With minimal effort, whole cloves of garlic fit easily in the crusher and come out ready to add to your favorite recipes. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Peel garlic cloves from a garlic bulb with your fingers, separating as many cloves as you need to crush. Gather the unpeeled cloves on your cutting board. You do not need to peel the cloves before crushing them.
-
2
Open the garlic crusher and place a garlic clove into the basket of the crusher.
-
-
3
Hold the crusher with the holes of the crusher over the small bowl (to catch the crushed garlic).
-
4
Close the crusher and squeeze the handles together firmly with your hand. As you squeeze, the crushed garlic will exude through the holes into the small bowl.
-
5
Open the crusher and remove the garlic peel. Insert another garlic clove to crush another clove.
-
6
Continue the crushing process, crushing each clove and then removing the peels until you crush as much garlic as you need.
-
7
Remove all remnants of garlic and peels from the insides of the garlic crusher. Many crushers come with a handy cleaning tool to help you clean out the tiny holes. Wash the garlic crusher by hand or in the dishwasher.
