You can use the shape of a star as the form to write text around.

Writing is an art that comes to some people naturally. With writing, you can preserve ideas for much longer than you can when you pass information by word of mouth. However, writing is usually not something you do to convey anything in a visual way. So how can you do both? Use the shape of a star and write your text around or inside it. Not only will your message be more visual, it will also be more entertaining to look at.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin with the simple shape of a star. Draw this with your pencil by marking a small dot close to the center of your paper (which will be the center of the star). Then draw five lines leading away from the dot in each direction, which will act as the star's branches. You can eyeball the spacing of these

Or draw the star in another way, if you'd like. Start anywhere on the paper. Draw a straight line diagonally up toward the corner of the page. Then, without lifting your pencil, continue to draw another straight line downward toward the bottom corner. This should make the shape of an upside-down V. Add another line from where you just left off toward the top left of the page. Then draw a line toward the opposite side of the page horizontally. Then continue the next line from where your pencil is to the bottom of the line you first started. For a visual of all these steps, see Reference 1.

    • 2

Erase any lines in the middle of the star.

    • 3

Decide on the words you want to have written inside or around the star. Begin to write these words, starting on the tip of the top of the star. You can follow the shape of the star around, writing words all the way. You can use adjectives that describe a star or make up words to use.

    • 4

Write words inside the star if you would like. You can adjust the height and width of each word to fit more snugly inside the star.

    • 5

Erase the basic exterior of the star your drew in Step 1. Now you will have a star of only words.
