How to Set Up Tattoo Guns
Tattoos are a great way to create a totally unique piece of art on your body. However, they are permanent, and a bad tattoo can provide a lifetime of regret. A tattoo gun, or tattoo machine, is the piece of equipment used to inject ink into the skin and produce a tattoo. Remove the needle from its packaging, taking extreme care as the needle is very sharp.

Thread the needle into the barrel so that the pointed end of the needle extends from the pointed end of the barrel.

Insert the rear end of the barrel into the body of the machine, and hang the loop on the end of the needle on the “armature bar.” Place a rubber band around the machine, and position it so it holds the needle down in place.

Slide the tube down so that about 1/16 to 1/32 of an inch of the needle is visible.

Screw the wingnut down to secure the tube in place.

Connect the machine to its power source.

Tips & Warnings
Take care not the damage the end of the needle during the setup process. A misshapen needle head will lead to inferior tattoo quality.
Always wear gloves when handling a tattoo gun. Needles should be autoclaved prior to use and cannot come in contact with your hands or other potentially dirty surfaces.
