How to Remove Shoe Polish from Wood
Shoe polish is a good way to bring new life to an old pair of loafers, but it can also mean bad news if it's accidentally smeared on a wood table, floor, or countertop. Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- Dish detergent
- Toothbrush
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Stain eraser sponge
- Dusting spray
- Rag

Dab the stain with a paper towel to remove any excess. Squeeze dish detergent onto a toothbrush and scrub the stain, using a small circular motion.

Pour hydrogen peroxide onto the stain and the soap and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Dab the stain again with a paper towel to soak up excess liquid.

Moisten the stain eraser sponge and scrub the stain vigorously until you no longer see traces of the polish. Apply dusting spray and swipe the surface with a soft rag.
