How to Work on Board a Cruise Liner
Many people dream about working on a cruise liner. You get to travel and see the world while getting paid. Various jobs exist on a cruise liner. You can be a massage therapist, tour guide, fitness instructor, restaurant server and much more. To work on a cruise liner, you need to figure out what job you want to have, find out who is hiring, understand the market of each cruise line and apply for jobs.

Figure out what you want to do. If you are a massage therapist or a fitness instructor already, you can apply to do these jobs on board a cruise ship. If you are not already qualified for a professional job, then you need to figure out whether you would prefer to work as a server, gift shop attendant, childcare employee, tour guide or many of the other jobs available. Pick two or three that most interest you.

Find out who is hiring. Figure out what cruise lines are adding new ships. Some of the larger cruise lines are Carnival, Royal Caribbean International and Princess.

Put your résumé together. If you have worked in any capacity that is like a cruise ship, such a spa or tour company, make that the focus of your résumé.

Apply for jobs. Make sure you add an excellent cover letter to your résumé. Do not give them any reason to say no to you.

Sell yourself. During the interview, prove that you are passionate about working for a cruise liner and show that you have the experience to back it up. If you are weak on the experience end, show that you are willing to learn and are teachable.
