How to Change the Administrator Restriction on Windows Vista Business

Windows Vista Business edition contains a restriction whereby non-administrative accounts are unable to perform many core functions on the computer, including the installation and removal of programs. Circumvent these restrictions by granting your account administrative privileges through the user account options in the operating system.

Instructions

    • 1

Restart the computer and log into an account that has administrative privileges.

    • 2

Click "Start," "Control Panel" and click "User Accounts."

    • 3

Click "Manage Another Account" and select the account for which you wish to remove administrative restrictions.

    • 4

Click "Change the Account Type," select "Administrator" and select "Change Account Type."
