Free Directions for Making Wrist Corsages

Make a wrist corsage for a special event.

Wrist corsages are typically used for events such as anniversaries or even weddings. They are a smaller version of a bouquet, and can be worn around your wrist so that they do not have to be pinned to a garment. You can make a corsage with real or silk flowers. Coordinate it with other bouquets and flower arrangements by using the same color or style of flower.

Things You'll Need

• Flowers
• Floral tape
• Scissors
• Elastic
• Needle
• Thread

Instructions

1. Cut the stem of two flowers so that they are an even 2 inches in length. Use a sharp pair of scissors to make clean cuts. If you are using silk flowers versus real, use wire cutters.

2. Place the two stems on top of each other so that they form the shape of an X. Wrap them with floral tape to keep them in position.

3. Add flower buds or foliage over the floral tape to hide it. Secure them with additional floral tape, or use a hot glue gun. This will give your wrist corsage a fuller look.

4. Arrange more foliage behind the main two flowers. Secure the foliage with floral tape or hot glue. Cut the stems of any foliage you add to the same length of the main two flowers so that they do not stick out of place. It is okay to see the floral tape on the backside as this will not be visible when you wear the corsage.

5. Place an elastic band around your wrist to measure the size of your wrist. Cut the elastic band with scissors and sew the edges together. Go over the edges a couple of times so that they are secure.

6. Place your floral piece of the center of the elastic band and attach it. Either sew over the stems of the flower, or attach it using a hot glue gun.
