How to Mix Oil and Gas for a Mini Pocket Rocket
Mini pocket rockets are scaled-down versions of motorcycles that are great fun for kids and adults. Made by a variety of manufacturers, mini pocket rockets are powered by gas or electricity, as well as by an oil and gas mix that is used to fuel two-stroke engines. If you have a mini pocket rocket with that type of engine, you need to know how to mix the oil and gas. If you don't mix them correctly, you can damage the engine of your mini pocket rocket.

1
Add one gallon of new gas to a gas can. Metal gas cans are the safest, but plastic ones designed specifically for gasoline are acceptable as well. The important thing is to make sure that the gas can has an airtight cap. Gasoline evaporates quickly, and without an airtight cap on the can, the oil/gas ratio of the mix can change while it's being stored.

Add the recommended amount of two-stroke oil to the gallon of gas. The ratio required will be listed in the owner's manual of your mini pocket rocket. If you don't have a manual, the typical mix ratio is 32:1, which means that you would add 4 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of gas. Other common ratios are 16:1 (8 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of gas) and 20:1 (6.4 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of gas).

Secure the cap on the gas can and shake for one minute. The oil and gas fuel mixture is ready to be used.

Tips & Warnings
The oil and gas can separate when stored, so be sure to shake the mixture each time before you fill your mini pocket rocket.
The manual provided with your mini pocket rocket may not have the best information on the proper oil and gas ratio. Most of these manuals contain generic information, and you should default to the typical mix ratio to best care for your engine. Never use a mix ratio greater than 50:1 or you could damage the engine of your mini pocket rocket.
