Installing a Lexmark X1000 Printer

Lexmark printers are among the easiest printers to install, as they are designed with simplified installation methods to make the job less complicated for home computer users. The Lexmark X1000 comes equipped with an installation disc to assist with the installation. Installing a Lexmark X1000 printer requires the installation of the Lexmark software driver from the installation disc in order to create a network link between the printer and the computer.

Things You'll Need

• USB connection cable
• Lexmark X1000 installation disc

Instructions

1. Connect the printer's USB connection cable to the back of the computer.

2. Secure the other end of the Lexmark USB connection cable to the back of the Lexmark X1000 printer.

3. Insert the Lexmark X1000 installation disc into the computer's CD drive and allow the computer to run the installation disc. Once the disc is detected, the Lexmark X1000 installation wizard's welcome screen will appear.

4. Follow the Lexmark X1000 installation guide prompts to complete the installation process. Once you have completed the installation process, all of the Lexmark X1000 functions and components will be added to your operating system, making the printer active on your computer.

5. Click the enabled "Next" button once all of the Lexmark X1000 functions and components have been added and installed to your operating system and hard drive.

6. Click "Finish" at the bottom of the final Lexmark X1000 installation wizard screen to conclude the installation process.
