Your Sharp cash register includes programmable keys that let you keep track of sales by day and by department, perform other report functions, and even calculate local sales taxes. The cash register also includes tools for resetting the machine in the event the device is not working properly.

Resetting A Cash Register Lockup: Reset Method I

Turn off and unplug your Sharp cash register.

Place the key in the “Mode” switch. Turn the key to the SRV' position. (Note there are two positoins: SRV and SRV'. They are not the same.) Plug in the cash register's power cord and turn on the register.

Press and hold the “Journal Feed” and “Receipt Feed” keys as you turn the key to the SRV position—the one without the apostrophe afterwards. Your Sharp cash register is now reset.

Resetting A Cash Register Lockup: Reset Method II

If Method I described in Section 1 above does not work, try this one. Place the key in the “Mode” switch. Turn the key to the “PGM2” position.

Turn off the cash register.

Press and hold the “Journal Feed” and “Receipt Feed” keys as you turn on the cash register. Your Sharp cash register is now reset.

Master Reset–Returning The Cash Register To Factory Settings

Turn off and unplug your Sharp cash register.

Place the key in the “Mode” switch. Turn the key to the SRV' position--the one with the apostrophe afterwards. Plug in the cash register's power cord and turn on the register.

Press and hold the “Journal Feed” key as you turn the key to the SRV position—the one without the apostrophe. Your Sharp cash register is now reset to factory settings.

Warning

Do a Master Reset only if your Sharp cash register will not reset using the other two methods or if you want to completely reprogram the register.
