How to Get Rid of Squeaky Shoes

Get rid of squeaky shoes with fabric glue.

Squeaky shoes are typically a result of loose attachment between the sole of the shoe, and the interior padding of the shoe. When you're tracking through a quiet building, walking into a quiet classroom or walking down the hallway of your office building, it is often embarrassing to have squeaky shoes. Luckily, by re-attaching the sole and padding you are able to quickly eliminate the squeaky shoe issues.

Things You'll Need

• Adhesive glue for fabrics
• Dull knife, optional

Instructions

1. Lift the padding on the insole of the shoes. If necessary, pry up the insole with a dull knife.

2. Cover the entire underside of the insole with a thin coating of fabric adhesive.

3. Press the insole back into place inside the shoe, pressing firmly with your fingertips so the sole sticks tightly to the base of the shoe.

4. Let the shoes sit overnight, which will allow the glue to dry entirely.
