Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the room. Remove furniture to create a clear path for the carpet cleaner. Vacuum the carpet with your regular vacuum to remove loose dirt and hair. Use a pre-treating solution on any stains and let sit according to the directions.

    • 2

Prepare the carpet cleaner. Remove the water tank from the base of the machine, unlatch the top and fill it with clean, hot, tap water. Do not boil or microwave the water as it could damage the tank interior. Next, remove the formula tank from the back of the machine and fill it with cleaning solution up to the line. Reattach both tanks to the machine.

    • 3

Choose a cleaning type. Select one of the four cleaning strengths from the Custom Clean dial. These are: heavy traffic, normal clean, light clean, or water rinse. The carpet cleaner will use your selected setting to determine how much solution to use during cleaning. Set the Ready Tools dial to "Floor Cleaning." Plug the machine into an outlet, turn it on and wait one to two minutes for the machine to heat up.

Clean the floor. While holding the trigger on the machine, make one slow pass forward and back. Release the trigger and move over the spot again with the same slow forward and backward pass motion. The first pass wets the carpet and the second removes the water and dirt from the carpet. Continue to make passes over one spot until the water that is removed looks clean. This may take multiple times. Complete the rest of your room in this manner.

Remove and clean the tanks. After cleaning, you should remove the water tank and dispose of the dirty water. Remove any carpet fuzz or pet hair that the machine has collected and throw it away. Rinse the water tank water until the water is clear. Allow to dry and then reattach to the machine for future use. If you will be using the carpet cleaner again in the near future, you can leave any remaining formula in the formula tank. Otherwise, empty it back into the bottle and rinse the formula tank with clear water. Allow to dry and replace.
