How to Make Explosion Albums for Scrapbooking
Scrapbooks are decorative ways to preserve memories. Filled with pictures and mementos, they serve as a way to share our moments in life with others. 1
Cut your four pieces of card stock into descending sizes by one inch. For example, cut the first piece to 11 inch by 11 inch, the second to 10 inch by 10 inch and the third to 9 inch by 9 inch.
-
2
Score the three smaller piece into equal nine equal boxes. For an 11-by-11 box, this equals nine 3 3/4-inch squares. For a 9-by-9 box it equals nine 3-inch squares.

-
3
Lightly fold each piece along the scored lines.
-
4
Cut the four corner squares from each sheet along the folded, scored lines using a box cutter. You will end up with a plus shape for each piece.
-
5
Fold the four remaining outer squares upward around the center square to form a box shape. Carefully fold on the scored edges to make each side of the box even. Do not tape or otherwise secure the sides together.
-
6
Stack the folded pieces with the smallest on top.
-
7
Fold a 1/2 seam around the edges of your largest piece of cardstock. Fold the extra material, created at the corner, under the seam to one side, such as you would when wrapping a present with paper. Fold the edge in half again and secure with tape on the inside. This forms the top for your box.
-
8
Add decorations to the outside of your inner boxes and scrapbook items to the inside. Fold up the outer squares of the box and place the lid on to hold it in place.

Tips & Warnings
Add a fourth layer to your box by cutting and scoring a smaller piece of cardstock. The amount of layers you have depends on how large or small you make your initial piece.
Measure carefully. Uneven boxes will not stay together when the lid is put in place.
