Instructions

    • 1

Spray paint the metal star with the base coat of your choice. Allow the paint to dry for four hours. Paint stars of several different sizes so that they will look nice in a grouping.

Choose several small stencils, such as stars, dots, flower petals, umbrellas, and so on. Spray the back of the stencil with stencil adhesive and press it against the flat point of the star.

    • 3

Fill in the stencil area with the appropriate color paint using a small paintbrush. Remove the stencil and move it to the next point of the star. Allow the paint to dry for four hours.

    • 4

Brush a small amount of brown pine-cone-colored paint on a dry soft cloth, spreading the paint slightly. Rub the painted area of the cloth over each of the metal stars to create a nice antique effect.
