A convection oven is similar to a traditional oven, excepts that it circulates the heated air using a fan. Jenn-Air is a company that manufactures kitchen appliances, including ten different types of convection ovens. Jenn-Air convection ovens all have a self-cleaning cycle during which the oven reaches high temperatures, turning oven residue to a powdery ash. Once the cycle is completed and the oven is cool, you can easily wipe the ash away using a wet cloth. Does this Spark an idea?

      Open your Jenn-Air convection oven. Remove any pans or racks from the oven.

      Spray a non-abrasive oven cleaner on the frame and door frame of the convection oven. Wipe the cleaner away with a damp rag to remove all grease, grime and debris.

      Turn the control panel on by pushing any button on the control panel. The control panel will display a menu. Depending on the particular model of Jenn-Air convection oven, there will either be four buttons on the right side or two buttons on both the left and right side of the control panel. Push the button that is to the side of the "More Options" display on the main menu of the oven control panel. From the second menu, select the button to the side of "Mode" or "Set-up Menu." Select the button next to "Self-Clean," then push the button to the side of "Next."

      Choose the self-cleaning level by pushing the appropriate button, selecting the "Light," "Medium" or "Heavy" cycle. The light cleaning cycle takes about two hours, the medium cycle takes approximately three hours and the heavy cycle lasts about four hours.

      Push the "Start" button to begin the cleaning cycle.

      Let the oven cool to room temperature. Use a wet cloth to wipe away any remaining ash and residue.
