Instructions

    • 1

Hang a large piece of fabric on your ceiling so that it is suspended at the center, and at all four corners, draping in the between sections. This will simulate a pagoda ceiling.

    • 2

Roll out bamboo mats for flooring.

    • 3

Decorate your "pagoda" with statuaries or figures of Buddha. You can also hang

origami birds on string from the ceiling.

    • 4

Hang paper lanterns and strings of white lights around the ceiling.

    • 5

Wear traditional Asian outfits, such as kimonos or a white

silk tunic and pants, to greet your guests.

    • 6

Instruct guests to remove their shoes before entering your "pagoda" as is

customary in authentic pagodas. You can give them slippers if you wish that can

also be used as parting gifts. You may also give them hand fans if the party is in

      the summer.

    • 7

Serve Asian-inspired appetizers such as lemongrass and chicken bundles, dim

sum, sushi and egg rolls on bamboo trays, along with shots of sake or teas. For dessert, serve a tiered frosted cake in the shape of a pagoda.
