How to Calibrate a B130 Inspiron Laptop Battery
Your Dell B130 Inspiron laptop battery is a fairly straightforward piece of equipment on the surface. You plug it into your laptop, you charge it and it gives you the ability to use your laptop off of battery power for a limited period of time. If you want to change the way your computer operates while the battery is plugged in and working, this is known as "Calibrating" the B130 Inspiron battery. You can do this using the Windows Control Panel.

Select a "Power Plan" for your B130 Inspiron laptop battery by using the options listed on screen. These will change the performance of your computer based on the fact that it is running on battery power. The exact specifications of a power option will be listed beneath its name; to select it, click on its name and then click on "OK." If you want to alter exactly what a plan does (like specify what happens when your laptop's lid closes, for example), you can click on "Change Plan Settings." When you're done calibrating your B130 Inspiron laptop computer battery, close the window to save your changes.

Correction. Calibrating a notebook battery is fully charging the battery then draining it completely(by leaving your system on until it shuts down on its own) then, once again fully charging it. This would be done when you can no longer get a full 100% charge out of your battery or your batter run time is shortened.
