How to Remove Background Wallpaper

Change your desktop wallpaper in Windows 7.

A computer's desktop wallpaper can provide inspiration, inspire creativity and spark conversations. You can remove a wallpaper from the computer's desktop at any time. To remove the computer desktop's wallpaper, it must be replaced with another image. You may use one of your favorite photos or another graphic found online as the new desktop wallpaper. Most computers also come with many wallpaper options installed.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button and select the "Control Panel." In the field enter, "desktop background" and press the search button. Click "Change desktop background" from the search results. A window with wallpaper image icon options will appear.

2. Select the image that you want to make the desktop background from the wallpaper icons listed. Or select the "Picture Location" menu and select a folder that contains an image that you prefer to use as the background wallpaper. Click "Browse" and in the browser window select the image. Press the "Open" button to include this image.

3. Choose the position of the picture. Select either "Fit" or "Center" as the position. You may also select "Change background color" and select a color from the choices provided.

4. Click "OK" to save the new desktop background.
