How to Open a WPD Doc in an Email Attachment

WordPerfect is a word processing program manufactured by Corel. Though WordPerfect is not a Microsoft product, WordPerfect files are compatible with Microsoft Word and can be opened with Microsoft Word without first converting the file. The WordPerfect program is available for both Mac and PC and often comes installed on the computer. If your word processor does not open WordPerfect files, you can download a plug-in that converts the files for you. You can also save the files in DOS format to open in other word-processing programs.

Instructions

1. Open your email client or web-based email account. Log in to your email account if necessary. Open the email containing the WPD Doc attachment and scroll to the attachment icon.

2. Double-click the WPD attachment to open it using your default word-processing application or right-click and use the drop-down menu to save it to your computer.

3. Right-click the WPD file where you saved it. Select "Open with." Select your preferred word-processing program.
