How to Resize Bras
The average woman’s bra size will change many times over the course of her life. Natural changes such as losing and gaining weight or having children can have a major impact on a woman’s size. Bras can be very expensive, and you may not want to throw out a too-small bra to buy a larger size. But, you also don’t want to wear a tight undergarment, as it can be unhealthy for your skin and underlying tissue. Instead, there are a few simple steps you can take to re-size your bra to obtain the correct fit.

Measure your underbust.

Measure yourself to determine your correct bra size. Use a cloth measuring tape to obtain your under bust measurement. Place the measuring tape around the area where the elastic of your bra would normally lie under your breasts.

Measure your bra.

Measure your current bra to determine how many inches you need to add to the back of the bra. Lay the bra flat and measure the band that wraps around your under bust. Compare this measurement to your actual under bust measurement.

Purchase a bra extender.

Purchase a bra extender which will add the required amount of extra size to your bra. You may find bra extenders at a number of online retailers as well as brick and mortar vendors. Be sure the extender you purchase has the same number of hook and eye closures as your bra.

Your re-sized bra will fasten across the back, much like it did before.

Add the bra extender to your bra. Attach the hooks of your bra to the eyes of the bra extender. You will attach the hooks of the bra extender to the eyes of the bra after you have placed the undergarment on your body for wear.
