How to Put Videos on an MP4 Video Player

MP4 is a standardized format type that is used to compress larger digital files into smaller ones. The MP4 format can be used to play audio files and also to watch videos. An MP4 player is designed to play audio and video clips in the MP4 format, and these media players can usually play other format types as well. The standard Windows software package includes Windows Media Player, which plays MP4 videos.

Instructions

1. Locate the MP4 video file on your computer. Click the "Start" menu icon at the lower left of the computer screen. Type the name of the file into the "Search programs and files" search bar.

2. Load the MP4 video into Windows Media Player. Right-click the file name and scroll your mouse arrow over "Open with." Click "Windows Media Player."

3. Watch the MP4 video after Windows Media Player automatically opens and begins playing the video.
