How to Clean an HP 960C Print Cartridge Using Vista

Clean an HP 960C printer cartidge using your Vista operating system.

An HP 960C printer allows you to clean your print cartridges from within your Vista operating system. This is useful because cartridge heads can become clogged with dried ink, dust and debris. The printer's software allows you to do the job in just a few minutes.

Instructions

1. Turn on the printer and put paper in the tray.

2. Click "Start" in the lower left corner of your desktop. Scroll up to "Programs." Click "HP Deskjet 900c series," then choose "HP Deskjet 900c series Toolbox."

3. Select the Printer Services tab. Click the "Clean the Printer Cartridges" button. Hit the "Clean" button. Inspect the page the printer produces. Click the "Done" button.

4. Click the "Intermediate Clean" button to complete a more thorough cleaning. Hit the "Clean" button. Inspect the page the printer produces. Click the "Done" button.

5. Click the "Prime" button to complete a more thorough cleaning. Hit the "Clean" button. Inspect the page the printer produces. Click the "Done" button.

6. Click the "Clean Again" button if you are not satisfied and repeat the process.
