How to Photoshop Using Adobe 6.0 Elements
The term Photoshop has ceased to be just the name for a program and has become a term used for the process of digitally repairing, altering or enhancing a photograph. As such, it is possible to “Photoshop” using Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. Photoshop Elements 6.0 is Adobe corporation's consumer-level version of its famous Photoshop application. Although Photoshop Elements 6.0 does not have the complete range of tools and functions as the full version of the program, it can nevertheless perform many of the same operations, such as photo repair.

Save the image that you want to Photoshop onto your computer by scanning it. Set the scanning software to at least 600 dpi to ensure a high-quality scan.

Open Photoshop Elements 6.0. In the opening dialog, click on the “Edit” tab. This will open the editing workspace.

Examine the photo for any blemishes or damage that you might want to repair. Go to the tool palette on the left and choose the “Healing Brush” tool. In the options at the top, adjust the brush size to slightly smaller than the size of one of the blemishes or damaged areas that you want to repair.

Hold down the “Alt” key and left click with the mouse on an area near the damage. Go to the damaged area, hold down the left mouse button and paint over the damage.

Select “File” from the menu and choose “Save As.” In the dialog that appears, name your project and save it as a .psd file.
