How to Convert an ATX Power Supply to Compaq
An ATX power supply is the unit that regulates and distributes power to the various components of your computer. Your power supply receives power from your wall plug and uses a series of power leads to route that power to your motherboard and other plug and play devices. Unlike many other computer hardware components, power supplies are universal. As long as your power supply has adequate output for what your PC requires, you can pull a power supply out of another computer and use it in your Compaq PC. Converting your ATX power supply to your Compaq PC will take you about 20 minutes to complete. Completing this operation will require an ATX power supply and a screwdriver.
